I discovered an interest in art in the early 1970's and first began working with oils. While working full time and raising 5 children I studied drawing and painting at a local art gallery and at evening classes at the local community college. My busy life overtook my time for art until 1990 when I joined a local camera club with my husband. I quickly realized how important and satisfying a camera lens could be. In 1992 I won a gold medal in international camera club competition for work I did using mylar and flowers as my subjects. We built a small dark room in our home and soon began teaching dark room art projects to our camera club members. We were privileged to use a local community college darkroom as our club grew in size. We learned techniques in making kodalith images and printing them, developing black and white film and printing and also about digitally enhancing and printing images on the then new color printers from Epson.

Since then my love for close-up photography has intensified. I enjoy nature in all of it's tiny sizes, finding decaying matter be it rust, water damaged, peeling paint, blossoms, all of those things we never notice in our daily lives. I have often heard people comment that my close-up floral photography is very sensual and in a style similar to Georgia O'Keefe. Always a thrill to hear that.

I've also been told that especially my digital images would make great music album covers! Wouldn't that be fun considering my love of music.

Recently I have discovered the enjoyment found in doing photography in a virtual world called Second LIfe. I have built and managed many galleries and produced my own exhibits featuring both real life and virtual life images - at times even combining the two. You will find both in my galleries.
