Nick Watts is an artist based out of New Jersey who specializes in what he describes as 'semi-abstract figures'. He began drawing at a young age and was inspired early on by Dr. Seuss books. Although completing over 1000 paintings and drawings in color, he switched to primarily drawing in black and white in 2012 after watching a John Borowski documentary based on Dr. H.H. Holmes. He describes the black and white scenes in the film as 'chilling and unsettling' and wanted his viewers to have a similar feel when looking at his drawings. From the haunting voice of 'Sun Kil Moon' singer Mark Kozelek, to the distorted and abstract music of Maynard James Keenan's band 'Tool', Nick believes he is more inspired by music rather than other painters and visual artists. 'Music is emotional and my drawings are nothing more than a depiction of my emotions and thoughts'.
