Nancy Knauer Poes was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1951 and grew up in the small and historic New Jersey town of Mendham.   She graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1973 with a degree in History.   From early childhood she has made art and has spent all of the intervening years as a painter -- a life of sustained creativity.   She lived in Hamburg, Germany after Berkeley and then Pennsylvania and Atlanta.   At Georgia State University of Art and Design she studied illustration.   In 1986 she moved with her two young daughters to Honolulu,...more
