Murtaza has always found art to be his calling. He started winning distinctions in Art from a young age at school in the United Kingdom where he grew up.
Murtaza discovered watercolours during his O'Levels under Tanveer Hussain at Aitchison College, Lahore, where he started to paint observation and still-life paintings. He took classes under Iqbal Hussain at the Lahore Art Gallery where his watercolour painting improved a lot and he scored an A Grade in Painting in his Art A'Levels submission. He was awarded the Rambir Shamsher Jung Art Prize at Aitchison College for three years, winning third, second and first prize.
He started Photography with an interest in Photoshop effects around 2003.
From 2013, Murtaza photographs with a Canon 5D Mark II Digital SLR Camera, having photographed for a long time using a Sony Cybershot F717 Camera.
Murtaza lives in Lahore, Pakistan.
