Mike Filippello is an American Artist, Illustrator and Author.
He has recently released his fourth children's story book titled 'The House of Top Hat~remembers~A Journey through Christmas.'
It's a unique and magical story about a lost alien called known as a 'Zinkle Quinkle' who is befriended by an old magician's top hat when the little alien becomes lost in a tiny town on Christmas Eve. Since this is the most magical night of the year the top hat comes to life and helps him by taking him on a wonderful journey to show him what Christmas is.

In addition to his painting Mike Filippello is a published author of his first children's book 'Miratambo Moonsong' that he wrote and illustrated, and was published in 2004 by PublishAmerica.com. Mike has recently finished illustrating the second book 'In A Place Called Barrontippeny' which is the sequel to 'Miratambo Moonsong,' and he is actively seeking publishing for that title at this time.

His main goal with his children's books is to create a whole new world of innovative storytelling, at this time he has ideas for more than 10 books. Mike writes on the basis of a little planet called 'Twinkle Winkle' that he created in 1992 as a concept and all the stories that he writes and illustrates are based on that simple premise.

Mike has his current online gallery located at www.artwanted.com/mikefilippello where there are 112 of his paintings, drawings, and illustrations. He also has 5 exclusive pictures of his illustrations from 'In A Place Called Barrontippeny' posted on the artwanted site in an exclusive gallery. Currently, Mike is in the process of re-illustrating one of his stories for submission for the spring 2007.

Also listed on the artwanted page are pictures of his concept 'Miratambo Moonsong 3D' box that he designed and constructed for a reading at the Henry Hudson Elementary School in Rochester, NY for March 2005. He has participated in the 'PARP' (Parents As Reading Partners) Program for both 2005, and 2006 where he would travel to the school and read his book to the school children. In June 2006 Mike was asked to be the key note speaker at the Henry Hudson Elementary School in Rochester for the school's moving up day ceremony. Mike was asked to write about 'Authors from around the world.' He spoke in front of an audience of school children, teachers, parents, and administration of more than 1,000 people. Mike has had one of his paintings 'Autumn Skies over Kensington Knolls' published in the national art publication 'DECOR' Magazine in February 2006. He was also featured in the 'Artist Spotlight' of the Rochester newspaper 'The Democrat & Chronicle' in September 2006.

Mike will also be listed in an upcoming edition of the national art publication 'Art Business News' as an 'Emerging Artist'. Mike continues to paint folk art today as well as pursue publication of 'In A Place Called Barrontippeny.' Mike lives in Canandaigua, NY with his wife Tricia, his and their three pets which include their French Poodle 'Countess Clementine Calypso of Geppetto's Legend,' and their two Calico cats 'Duchess Kismet Tsabella.' and 'Lady Cannoli Piccolini.'
