I am Michelee Scott of MScott-Photography, an award winning photographic artist and fine art photographer specializing in landscapes, both natural and urban.
I grew up watching and admiring my dad; a talented illustrator and painter. Realizing quickly that my talent didn't lie in that area and after many creative twists and turns, my search led me to an Aha! moment behind the lens of a camera. Just as a painter uses a brush to create, I use my camera...best part? Minimal hand eye coordination is necessary!
My style is primarily expressive; for me it is more about a sense of place than a particular place. The most successful photographs on a personal level are those where the smallest thing becomes the greatest subject. I enjoy capturing the extraordinary in the everyday and find myself compelled to make photographs that expose the immense beauty and variety in our world. Much of what you'll find in my studio celebrates the natural world in all its forms.
My home is on Bainbridge Island in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Inspiration is frequently drawn from my current surroundings, and here that means the calming and healing beauty of the ocean, magical woodlands & forests and picturesque islands that surround me.
