Inspired by the mind expanding focus of the 60’s and early 70’s, and influences by Cubist and other modern artists, Michael Spatola has produced photography which has evolved from and elaborates upon these influences.
Michael’s signature style blends the use of computer technology with time-honored materials of ink and dyes. By manipulating photographs and drawings of varied subjects, he fractures the images into their most basic elements, scrambles and juxtaposes the elements unexpectedly, and injects color as a starling yet harmonious component. Michael’s technique adds new dimension to everyday images,enabling observers to view them in a new and exciting perspective.
Having grown up with a camera around his neck, Michael parlayed his photographic talents into a career in the arts.
Michael has now given his vision a more personal focus, and is producing his art for his own pleasure as well as that of his audience.
