Maia is an oil painter based in Baltimore, Maryland.   Her work depicts natural environments distorted through liquid forms.   Maia began oil painting while attending New College of Florida, where she studied visual anthropology.   After graduating in 2017, Maia moved to Baltimore to join the Community Art Collaborative, a program that connects artists with local organizations.   During this time, Maia took courses at Maryland Institute College of Art to strengthen her creative practice and support local nonprofits across the city.   Maia currently teaches private and...more
