Hellas means Greece

The name we call our country is "Hellas", but "Greece" is not wrong. Both are names of Greek ancient tribes. In prehistoric and then in historical times, many Greek tribes lived in our land. Because of the geography of the area, the movement of the people was very difficult. Thus, various Greek tribes lived isolated from the rest, separated by impassable mountains. "Hellenes" called the ancient tribe that lived in Epirus and were related to Macedonians who, later with Alexander the Great, founded the famous empire. "Grekee" called the Greek tribe that lived in the mountainous region of today's mainland Greece. Other Greek tribes were the Spartans, the Dorians, the Achaeans, the Pelasgians, the Aegians, the Ionians, the Cretans, the Thracians, the Cycladians and others. My country is a land of outstanding natural beauty and wide variety of animals and plants, many of which do not live anywhere else in the earth. I like to photograph special beautiful landscapes of my country, flowers, plants and animals. I hope you like them.
