The original choice of training and profession of Lynn De Serres was in Special Care Counselling. She worked in that field in numerous capacities for many years.

Lynn earned several college credits in Professional Photography. She currently expresses herself artistically via the digital painting medium as well as in photography. She is completely proficient in several sophisticated software applications, namely Corel Paint Shop Pro, Corel Paint, Adobe PhotoShop Elements, ArcSoft Photo Studio, Photo Pos Pro, among others. Her images reflect reality and abstract. Her style is eclectic. She has over 1,500 (one thousand, five hundred) artworks in her portfolio.

Almost all of Lynn's art works originate from Montreal, the city where Lynn was born and still resides. Given the fact that Montreal is literally one of the most flowered cities in the world, the region proved to be an inspirational mecca for her floral art works.

One of Lynn's artwork is featured in the 2012 calender published by the American company Art Wanted. Another of Lynn's artwork appeared in the 2009 Art Wanted calender.

With her artwork, Lynn creates greeting cards, frames, journals, sketch books, and bookmarks. Some of her creations have been ordered and sent as gifts to recipients in Canada, the United States Of America, and Europe.

In these times of many worldly challenges, Lynn strives to create artwork that indicates gentleness and peace. Her artwork is a reminder to herself as well as to others that much beauty really does exist in this world we all share. It is her hope that every single person can experience beauty and peace within herself/himself and throughout her/his entourage, and perhaps even through artwork.

Artist Statement

Lynn often refers to her artwork style as Tender Art. There are artists who really do create works of art which are tender. They may not, however, refer to their style as Tender Art. Be that as it may, Tender Art is not an official art style. Personally speaking, Tender Art represents life in a calm way. It is NOT shocking art nor is it necessarily sensational art. In this hectic world, one does not often have time to notice the gentleness surrounding her/him. Tender Art offers the opportunity to do so.

This is the purpose of Tender Art. It reminds others that there still exists some calm and peace, gentleness and serenity in this world we all share. Beyond the art, a viewer may find a tender scene within her/his entourage that inspires her/him. Whether it be a mid-summer sunrise; a mother rocking her infant; the first spring flower growing beyond the winter’s last patches of snow; parents walking hand in hand with their very small child; a few squirrels having bits of bread in the park at noon; a couple on a quiet beach watching a glorious sunset; colorful leaves falling in autumn; a stranger extending a smile to an elder sitting on a bench; a lone cardinal perched on a branch of a pine tree that is half covered with snow; a little boy hugging his beloved dog; yes, even a tiny stem with three miniature leaves growing in the most unlikely place; and infinitely more scenarios – these are tender moments that can be portrayed in art, regardless of medium or style.

If you were to imagine a world filled with beauty andpeace, what would that world look like? Dare to imagine. Dare to create Tender Art of what you imagine.
