When I was a boy my parents had a subscription to National Geographic. I loved the photos of exotic people, places, and animals and I dreamed that one day I, too, could make such images. In my teens I got my first real camera, a Kowa SE, a big step up from my mother's Brownie Six-16. I learned how to develop film and make prints.
