I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12.
In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts, Cooperstown Art Association, Vermont State Crafts Center, Schenectady Museum, Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts and Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Center. An art work of mine was also featured in a book published by the Whitney Museum of Art.
I have also sold art worldwide through the internet, including my own website, Etsy, Artfire and the Australian site, Zibbet.
I also spent many years as a musician. I won a New York state grant for my CD, The Goldenrod (for which I also did the art work). It was also an editor's pick on CD Baby. My CD, Wing'd with Hopes, was on the best-seller list in the Renaissance music category on CD Baby, and was also distributed in Europe through In and Out Records.
