VISUAL ARTIST, KRISTIN LLAMAS
Award-winning artist, Kristin Llamas developed her first touring solo museum exhibition at the age of twenty-two. She has received recognition from the National Society of Arts and Letters and three professional development grants.
Kristin’s paintings and installations reside in public and private collections around the U.S. and Europe including the Tennessee State Museum, the Taube Museum of Art, the Parthenon Museum, and the Nashville International airport. She has exhibited in all fifty states of the U.S., along with France, Greece, Italy, and Switzerland, including a presentation at TEDxNashville.
Working in collections, Kristin creates paintings and installations that focus on philosophy and environment. She is guided by the idea that art helps us understand ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Kristin is best known for sewing together scraps of canvas, then layering them with mirror-writing and symbolic imagery. These layers are what weave together a theme of mindfulness and beauty.
Raised in Rochester, NY, Kristin now divides her time between traveling and her art studios outside Nashville, TN. Her work is represented by The Studio 208 Gallery in Nashville, TN, Art Elevated Gallery in Park City, UT, and DaVallia Art Gallery in Chester, VT.
