After earning a BS Degree in Home Economics Education - Fashion Design at Kent State University and a Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling, I taught in the public schools many years. With reliance on innate ability and a few classes I went on to pursue creative art as a retired teacher.
My work in acrylics was accepted into the (Youngstown, Ohio) Butler Institute of American Art's National Mid-Year Show in 2005 and again in 2007 - major achievements so soon after starting painting. My art has consistently been accepted into other major shows at 'The Butler', the Hoyt Institute of Fine Art in New Castle, PA, and the Trumbull Art Gallery in Warren, Ohio.
I work mainly in acrylics or pastels and enjoy portraits, landscapes, and water. My preference is the unposed figure. The exciting part 'for me' is the play of light -- I love sunlight and unusual compositions.
