BEHIND THE LENS
I get inspiration for my photography from masters such as Ansel Adams and Eliot Porter. They believed that instead of privileging the broad vistas and panoramic views, it was better to communicate to the viewer the complexity of the ecological relationships within and outside of the frame, by getting in closer. Moreover by choosing to photograph in black and white, it gives the viewer a better sense of how light plays an important role in creating texture and shape. Not only do I want to express this, but I also want to show elements of the natural world in their pure state. From water cascading down a river to a crack in a rock surface.Â

Furthermore IÂ choose to remove colour from my photography, because it instantly creates a scene of reality into one of fiction. This also allows me to experiment more freely with abstraction and symbolism, which is what I want to get across to the viewer. www.joseredondophotography.co.uk
