Perception Photography
Presenting an image to convey certain actions or supposed relationship to the subject. It’s easy to imply a certain relationship with the subject, just establish eye contact with your subject. I’ve taken so many images where the subject was looking directly at me, but the subject’s personal feelings cannot always be assumed by the facial characteristics. A model’s or subject’s personal feelings can change within seconds and it is often not enough to really present in the image. You can always use captions to convey an emotion, but those emotions might be those of the photographer and not the model.
