Greetings from Little Horse Ranch.
My paintings are done mostly in acrylics. My style tends towards to be rather a folk art look. I am not what could be termed a 'realism' artist as my art background is in mostly in pen and ink and cartooning. Having worked in the great outdoors of the western United States all my life as a logger, carpenter, horse-shoer and cowboy. I combine my memories of places, people and events, ranging from the serious to the sometimes comedic escapades of living a western rural life.
My work methods are quite simple. I don't generally work from photographs or use a grid system on canvases. An image, memory or idea comes to me and I might sketch with pencil onto the canvas or not and then I begin to paint.
Currently I work with developmentally disabled adults once a week, teaching drawing and cartooning, we have a lot of fun!
