I was born in 1946 in the very heart of the Deep South, in the state of Louisiana, into a family with heavy English and southern roots behind me on my maternal side.   I have joked and said that I was born with a good horse under me, a good dog, (preferably the Louisiana State Dog) the Catahoula at my side, with a camera and art tools in each hand.   Even as a small child photography and art interested me.   They held me in their spell.   I consider photography just as much an art as any other.   Growing up, I dabbled in both photography and art as much as time and...more
