Janal began painting in her early teens. Growing up in Essex County Janal had the privilege to be taught by Sergio DePaoli a well known portrait painter and fine arts teacher. Taking every opportunity during and after school to learn as much as she could from such a talented and patient teacher. She was commissioned to paint murals on school walls before and after graduation and in local businesses.
