I have always had a certain knack for art for as long as I remember. I was able to create my own separate world with a pen and a piece of paper. I think it was this early enthusiasm that made my parents enroll me in art programs from a very early age. That however didn't stop them to persuade me to seek a career in the medical field.
Needless to say, my artist inside never gave in. During my 20 years of work as a dentist, I never had an office without an attached art studio for me to paint in during my breaks. Oil painting was the first field that I explored after sketching, but I didn't stop there. Over the years, I worked in many different mediums such as pastel, watercolor, colored pencil and pen and ink.
Water color is my medium of choice. I had always admired watercolor for it's lightness and tranquility, and it's ability to communicate subject's feel as well as it's materiality. After a period of self-learning, I got the chance to attend the workshops of one of my most revered watercolor artists, Mohammad Atashzad. After moving to United States, I started attending art classes at Collin County Community College. I had the privilege to participate in many student art shows at Collin College and at 8680 gallery and win a scholarship by the school.
