Many things in life can be a pleasure if presented in the right light.   The subject of much of my work recently has been common items such as toys and appliances, and I found that they have much to offer visually all by themselves.   I have always enjoyed machines of every kind, and painting them is like describing an old friend.   A number of fine artists that have influenced me were previously technical illustrators or graphic artists, and their work has helped to shape the way I like to paint.   Through a mutual friend, my parents were able to arrange pastel instruction for me...more
