Raised entirely on Vancouver Island, B.C., Heidi Bada was first inspired by farm lands and rural living.   Her youth was spent immersed in bicycling, and her art focused on bike racing and other sports.   After a few early career hits working as a sports illustrator and sports photographer, she studied sciences to capitalize on many interests like kinesiology and the effects of environment on health.   After a delay and adjustment due to injury, and graduating from university during the financial crisis 2008-2009, she was unable to find work and made a modest income in freelance portraits and...more
