I grew up in Lucedale, Mississippi in a small community called Broom. I have been drawing and painting all my life. I am particularly influenced by my love of nature and wildlife. The area I grew up in was swampy and teaming with wildlife. It had a special beauty all it's own and impacted my love of nature. I studied art at the University of Southern Mississippi.
I have shown my art in various places through out the Southeast. Was a member of the Singing River Art Association and participated in group shows. Accepted in juried shows at the The Art Depot in Pascagoula, MS.
In the past was a member of the Women's Art Alliance in Alabama and participated in group shows at the Kentuck Art Center in Northport. Al. Participated also at Jury Shows in Oak Ridge TN at Oak Ridge Art Center.
When I was older I moved to the Great Smokey Mountain area and worked on regional stuff for a while. I spent many days in Cades Cove up in the Smokey Mountains working on landscapes of the cabins. I also worked out doors a lot at the streams within the park. I still concentrate on wildlife and nature scenes. I do some surrealist work also. I now live in Johnson City, TN. I am active in the local art community and a member of the Watauga Valley Art League and The Kingsport Art Guild.
I enjoy reading, taking long walks and anything about nature. My favorite places to visit locally are the Great Smokey Mountains and Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium.ming soon...
