Haha, I love this picture.   It was taken while I was still in high school...1989...working on a batik lovingly titled 'The Hand.' I have always been a bit obvious when titling my artwork. 'The Hand' currently resides in my son's room and will probably be placed here on fine art america once I am able to have the digital image created.   I got my start and developed my love for batik in high school with a wonderful art instructor by the name of Noreen Shanafelt.   She was great at pushing me to try new things, to experiment artistically and to have fun.   I never would have...more
