Making pictures, chasing color and light.
An East Coast transplant to the Pacific Northwest, I have degrees in art and law and worked in catalog photography while an undergrad at Rutgers. Starting out as an illustration major, I soon discovered painting and photography. In addition to my BA from Rutgers, I also studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NYC. I have also done a small amount of artist modeling.
I am not a traditional photographer, per se; I am interested in drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, but I love the relative immediacy of photography in the digital age, as well as its marriage between art and science, and I use it primarily as a medium to document the beautiful emotive reality of life, in creating what I hope are beautiful images, to transcend the mundane and to reach for the sublime.
