To be honest I don't look upon myself as a photographer but in fact more like as a moment catcher ..
A hunter to trap those individual moments in life which can sometimes be rare to see and rare to feel as well. This means that it is probably time itself with what I am dealing with. It's the moment and the mood closed inside that time fragment is the trophy I hunt for - which can be a glimpse of a bird, or a shadow of a smile, a strange form or just a beautiful color or tone.
And it is not the machine which hunts down the theme but my senses, a big part of it is intuitive and instinct, and the other is aware, conscious.
The moment when the picture is caught is just a first step in the process, then comes the postworks if necessary - to add yourself more deeply into that capture of yours. To create something special which a camera technology cannot add to that specific shot.
To think it over and to feel the exact mood again beside my computer.
Everyone sees things more or less the same but to understand and feel it's frame of mind - these impressions are really individual.
I guess basically photography does not differ from any other forms of artistic ways of self expression. You are what you see and how you understand and feel it - then how you express it to the outside world.
The better you can add yourself to the picture, the clearer will that shot tell your story, represent your life and way of living in this world.
And imho - this is the essence of photography as art and self expression for my self. ...In what I belive.
