Frank H. Flood
Born, Dublin. Awarded four year Visual Art scholarship to the National College of Art & Design, Dublin. Awarded the Richard DiMarco Touring Bursary. Awarded the Robert Smithson Memorial Scholarship at Brooklyn Museum Art School, New York, under Toshio Odate. Co-ordinator of environmental sculpture for Barry LaVAY at Art Park, Lewiston, New York State. Arts Council of Ireland Bursary.
Award winning Designer for Stage and Film. Stage work seen in all major Irish Theatres and internationally, including the US, Australia, Great Britain, Canada etc. Film work includes Art Direction on such films as ‘The Field’, ‘Far And Away’, ‘Da’ ‘A Man Of No Importance’ etc. TV, Public Broadcasting Service, USA.
Since taking up painting full time his visual Art Exhibitions include ‘New Beginnings’ a one man show at The Mill, Skerries, ‘People and Places’, a one man show at Kennedy Gallery Dublin, Two Man show at Kilcock Gallery, Co. Kildare . Royal Hibernian Academy, Summer 2004 and 2008, Eigse 2004, Ev+a 2005 and ‘Acting Artists’ at Gerald Davis Gallery.
Awarded Fingal visual arts bursary to Tyrone Guthrie artist’s retreat 2005. Awarded residency at the Centre d'Art i Natura, Farrera de Pallars, Catalonia 2006.
Group exhibition (4 Painters) at the Nielson Gallery, Grazalema, Spain in April 2006. Certamen Internacional de Pintura, Cadiz, 2006.
Overall winner International Art In The Open competition 2011. ‘Four Voices’ Ardgillian 3/12.
