Franco Puliti was born in 1945 in Livorno, Italy. He studied at the A. Passaglia Institute of Art in Lucca, Italy. Franco Puliti pursued his art career throughout the region of Tuscany, until he emigrated to the United States in 1980. Puliti has mastered the techniques of watercolor and oils, producing paintings abundant with light and shadow. His renderings that are painted in a hyper-realistic style known as 'trompe l'oeil' are often on the edge of being dreamlike. He takes inspiration from the objects and scenery that surrounds him while chasing a sentimentality of his Italian youth.
