I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. Now, back home, and just enjoying the ride. I've been a photographer for over 40 years, first as a hobbyist, and then as a professional. I've enjoyed a lifelong love affair with animals domestic and wild, especially horses. I am an animal advocate, an outdoorsman, and naturalist first, and then a photographer. I believe that it is important to know, understand, and respect and protect the subjects that you want to photograph before ever setting foot in the wild. Self-described as a thinker, philosopher, photographer, and geek, but mostly just a dreamer! I won't bore you with a lot of pretense and fluff. I have won awards, been published and all that, and so it seems, has everyone else, and that's not what I work for. What truly matters, is if you like my art!
Though I still travel some, mostly out west for the wild horses, much of my work features nature, wildlife, and scenes from North Carolina! It doesn't matter the season, I love being outdoors in nature, whenever possible, and am comfortable and respectful, in the company of animals. After 40+ years of roaming the beaches, mountains, and forests, I hope that my love of animals, and the great outdoors comes through, and you will find something special, perhaps a new way to see something familiar, or even something you have never seen, to adorn your walls.
