I am a proactive artist who has painted for many years, and I love the impressionistic/realism approach to painting animals, seascapes, and the natural elements of life. I also enjoy painting people and pet portraits with vivid color intensity.
I grew up in Atlanta with four artistically talented brothers and an aunt who influenced my first impressions of art.
I attended the University of Georgia in Athens and while there I found myself leaning toward art. Even in my first year I included courses on drawing and design.
I have lived in several different places like Atlanta, Raleigh, Woodstock, Singapore and Hong Kong. All of these caused me to experience art from different cultures and different geographic regions.
Animals have played a big part in influencing my art as I owned and showed horses and managed a stable of mine on our mini farm in Raleigh. Thus, my leaning towards domestic farm animals and birds, as well as exotic ones.
I always loved water and enjoyed boating and swimming. That enthusiasm caused me to love natural water recreation and to paint water fowl sharing the rivers, lakes and ocean.
I studied from local artists and have often participated in online classes, and also from various artistic workshops.
I was a member of Visual Art Exchange. I enjoy selling at various markets, in shops, craft and art festivals, Fine Art America, Facebook and Instagram.
I do welcome commission paintings, especially including people portraits and pet portraits.
