My husband and I live in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia. Several years ago, our grown children and grandchildren gave us our first digital camera. Since that time, I have been taking photographs, seemingly, non-stop.
From the start, I have continually prayed to see the beauty the way God wants me to see it. It's as if blinders have been removed from my eyes and I am seeing so many things for the first time, and on those special moments when downloading photos on the computer, and I have that 'Ahhhhhhh' moment, or that photo that brings tears to my eyes, or a smile to my face, I feel humbled and grateful.
It is so easy for me to get lost in the shot, sometimes taking dozens of photos of the same scene; the same flower, leaf, landscape, person ~ whatever image I may be shooting. I continue to pray to always see through the eye of the lens, the photograph that God wants me to see. From the first photo I shot, to the most recent, I pray the blinders continue to be lifted from my eyes. I am thankful.
My Galleries contain themes from all seasons and subjects. 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' ~ and I search for the beauty. Sometimes beauty comes through in peace and/or tranquility, or through a touch of sadness or humor. I thank you for viewing these images and I hope they bring to you peace, comfort, a smile, or even a 'laugh out loud' moment, and that there will be those that touch your heart. I thank you from mine.
