Dennis McCarthy was born and brought up on the shore of Skaneateles Lake, in
Central New York. He visited the Thousand Islands while scuba diving in
the 1970's. Since then, he visited the area yearly until he retired with his
wife Kathi and permanently moved to Cape Vincent, NY on the St Lawrence
River. A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in
Electrical Engineer, he worked in product development for large international
and small entrepreneurial corporations. One common element in the companies
he worked for was industrial design. This is were he learned the value of product
shape, style, color and form in presenting the product. Today his passion
is photographing the Thousand Islands in all seasons. What started as a way to
show friends pictures of the River all year, has turned into a 20 year collection
of photos that document the beautiful Thousand Islands in all it's seasons.
