Darrel was born in the Sunflower state and loves them as apart of his art.   His early year were in Kansas where he grew up riding horses and surviving his five brothers and sisters.   He went to work for a well driller and along with drilling domestic and irrigation wells he helped on a few windmills, referred to by one artist as 'trusty old timer', as they supplied water to many a man and beast.   You will see a few of those in his work.   When he got itchy feet he moved to New Mexico, and went to driving truck allowing hem to see numerous states and the beautiful landscapes of...more
