I started painting watercolors in 1997 and since then art has been a part of my life. I find great joy in looking at interior design, fashion design and landscape photography.
When I was eighteen I started taking drawing lessons at the Westvest Academy and painting lessons from a local artist, both in Delft (The Netherlands). I attended a short course in photography as well, in Amsterdam, just for the fun of it! Much later I also took lessons in pottery, again at the Westvest Academy. The lessons in drawing and painting especially helped me in getting together a personal portfolio that earned me admission to the Academy of Art in Rotterdam where I studied and created art for a while. I decided not to pursue an art only career and switched to another study which led to employment in social care. This as a profession, suited me better. My passion for art however remained strong. During the years my enthusiasm for painting kept growing as I explored different styles and started to develop my own.
I like to experiment with different mediums and styles. Using acrylic paint has my preference.
My inspiration comes mainly from nature: animals, birds, flowers, scenery as well as everything I photograph on holiday trips.
I also like to paint people.
Recently I discovered that I enjoy painting in an abstract manner as well.
