ARTIST STATEMENT
Primarily at this stage in my life I am a watercolorist. I paint what I envision or experience and I strive to make my artwork entertaining for myself and others.
When painting, my style wanders in different directions depending on my mood. I may paint realistically but really love to paint whimsically. Nature�s creations are fabulous subjects when combining whimsy with realism and my artwork reflects my view of the world which is filled with endless entertaining subjects and predicaments.
The technique I use involves intense color saturation and my goal is to try to replicate the vibrant colors that I see in nature as realistically as possible.
What truly brings me joy is how people react to my work. First they admire the colors, questioning the medium and then they relate to the subject matter. Be it beauty, humor, silly or an environmental statement, it keeps me painting and I am always thinking about my next piece.
I look at life as being full of lessons. Everyday is a brand new day filled with new experiences that enhance the perception of our own reality. My hope is throughout my life I will never stop learning and always be laughing.
