I work primarily in pastels and watercolors, although I occasionally dip into oils and acrylics. What I paint with and how I paint it is determined more by the subject matter than anything else.
In 2004, I began painting with pastels and joined the Pastel Artists of Hawaii. Watercolors followed in 2005. I am currently a signature member of the Pastel Artists of Hawaii, a member of the Hawaii Watercolor Society and Windward Artists Guild in Hawaii.
There's a small room that is set aside for all my art supplies and it's the area where I do most of my painting. But once a week, weather and other constraints permitting, I join my fellow artist friends and paint en plein air somewhere on Oahu, usually on the Windward side where I live. When I travel, I take lots of photos and try to paint whenever I can.
My favorite subjects will always be fur, feathers, water, skies and mountains – all things dealing with nature.
