Fire Control Towers and Fort Miles
Fort Miles and the World War II Fire Control Towers of the Delaware coast were early example of, what we call today, Homeland Security. Built to protect the Delaware Bay from invasion by enemy ships, fire was never directed on an enemy vessel. Evidently the existence of the Fort Miles battery served as a strong deterrent. "JIGSAW PUZZLES" are now available with these images in various sizes and piece-counts.
