I'm very curious about people, places, and things and particularly change overtime. So, I decided to be the teenage detective, Nancy Drew... my utter focus during childhood, as I rummaged through the artifacts in my grandmothers old cedar trunk. However, I ultimately became an archaeologist. As such, conducting historical and prehistoric research, reviewing hundreds of maps, documents and citations, and taking part in numerous investigative field projects both above and below the ground, this was it! I found the way to satisfy my curiosity forever!
Photography quickly became my eyes.
Through my work and personal treks to the mountains, forests, from the ocean to the creeks, the desert to the fertile valleys, and within the urban and rural landscapes, I see it. All that I have imagined or mapped in context or in transformation, there it was! The people, places, and things. This is what I see when I look through the lens of my camera. This is my ultimate capture.
Photography is my way of paying homage to the past, embracing the present, for those in the future.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you have a specific photographic interest I can help you with. I also enjoy conducting archaeology through photography and artifact resource discussions with children (K-4th grade).
