Barbara was born in Washington, DC and lived in nearby suburban Maryland where she grew up and went to school.   Drawing was always a pastime of hers and living in DC afforded her the chance to visit the many famous galleries and museums there.   After marriage she and her husband moved to Florida where they had their family.   As the children grew older Barbara began painting, starting in oil and then changing to watercolor, now her preferred medium.   Her official training in oil was with Lydia Quick for several months before turning to the new medium.   An...more
