I have always loved drawing, painting and photography; although, drawing and painting were my earliest love as a kid. In high school I took one art class my senior year under Miss Barbara Olson. She suggested that I consider taking an art major in college. My father had other ideas! As a result, this love was put aside until I was nearing retirement. I began taking a few drawing, colored pencil and water color classes at Chicago's Morton Arboretum. I am finally getting a chance to do what I really love to do! Flowers and gardens have always been a love of mine even as a kid as I pulled weeds in my mother's Wisconsin flower garden. Today, I try to fill our townhouse entryway, lake shoreline and our house with flowers. When my husband and I travel, it is always the gardens that we end up visiting first. Photography is a third love of mine as in college I took several photography classes as part of my Master's degree. More recently a friend of mine introduced me to acrylic painting. Today some of my photographs do become the subjects of my paintings or drawings.
