In 2016, while home recovering from a life altering medical diagnosis, April Clay unlocked a life changing skill, her love of art and painting. Her need to be creative allowed a distraction and the ability to focus on battling and winning against cancer. Her works are mostly done with acrylic paints and pastels and is 100% self-taught. She was raised and continues to reside in Tiffin, Ohio. She is dedicated a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Her painting technique and style are typically inspired by whatever God places on her heart the moment she picks up her brush, and the things that bring her peace, serenity and joy. Some of her work includes landscapes, mountains, beaches, flowers of every kind, and mermaids. I mean what girl doesn’t wish to be a mermaid! Since her journey in art began, she has completed four commissioned pieces and plans to exhibit her works in the Tiffin Artist Market in Tiffin, Ohio in July of 2020.
So, what started out as a form of therapy and recovery, has now become a means of life and a reminder that we live to fight another day no matter what lies ahead.
No battle is too big or too small when you find beauty in it all.
