i was born in Mozambique, a country located in the south of the African continent, in the central province of Manica, more specifically in the capital Chimoio in 1976, My artÃstic name is Aeidy Kassimba, I am self-taught in the art of sculpting, painting on canvas and fluid acrylic; I had my first contacts with the art of sculpting between the years 1987-90, creating objects and children's toys for my own use, already in my adolescence I started selling these toys to friends and acquaintances, where an opportunity arose to exhibit at a local exposition, it was there that I had my first impressions with renowned and already renowned artists where you can learn how to sculpt professionally. Currently I work more with black wood (the same as the black keys of high fidelity pianos) umbila and panga-panga all of them exotic and native woods from Africa and with high shine, thus adding more value to the works.
I use a technique that makes the pieces unique and with traces of the Shona culture in which I am inspired and whose themes are aspects of social life, I try not to create pieces that are totally faithful to reality, to have a little magic and most are hand carved. I also have objects and ornamental works for everyday use, metallic sculptures and paintings on canvas (fluid acrylic) techniques that I have been exhibiting at various municipal and national exposition s. I currently exhibit daily at a local exposition, right in the center of Chimoio city, I work with several artists and I do custom work and different sizes.
