Since childhood, Aristotle's quote, 'Where there is no vision, the people perish,' has been a huge influence on me. I continue to extend and interpret its meaning through my photography as I capture images that hopefully inspire, amuse and gladden. At the same time, perhaps my images will also help document the beauty of Mother Nature and our responsibility to care for her.

Following a three decade career in public education, as a teacher and then principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District, I began a new career quite serendipitously as a professional landscape, wildlife and jazz photographer of California's majestic Eastern Sierra mountains. Exhilarated by the exquisite beauty surrounding our new mountain residence, my camera helped transform me to another time and space, replacing some haunting experiences of the congested inner cities. I printed and mailed the images to friends and colleagues in the form of post cards. This led to selling my images on wholesale blank note photo greeting cards to local merchants, which eventually led to the opening of my own retail gallery, Candid Images, in the resort community of Mammoth Lakes. The gallery showcased my visual storytelling with framed enlargements of these cards and other varied subjects that are both up close and personal in perspective.

Participating in regional art shows, charitable events and serving as the official souvenir poster photographer for the annual Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee provided other opportunities to fill my thoughts with the beauty that surrounds us every day. My nature's Candid Images were sold in a variety of sizes from greeting cards to framed enlargements. It brought the idea of being outdoors and feeling its inspiration and awe to use on the inside for residential and commercial wall decor. Very therapeutic :-)
