AMRITA DAS is a self taught Bhubaneswar-based Professional Artist, originally from Rourkela, India.
It is only in the last two years that AMRITA seriously considered art as a career and moved to painting full-time.
Her paintings mostly comprised of modern, contemporary and abstract art as oil paintings, acrylic paintings, water color paintings and mixed media. The freedom and serendipity of the art form allows her to get lost in the process. It was the only things where she could find peace and satisfaction to run a career with.
Her aim as an artist are modest. In her own words:
'I hope to make people pause for just a moment. My inspiration is simple. To make beautiful paintings which is familiar, tangible and enduring. I focus my time and thoughts on familiar genres to achieve this and to ensure my work does not evolve away too far from our unique Indian styles.
I want to live a life doing something that is not merely transactional but find ways to convey feeling, emotions and stories through my artworks. I want to paint my environment and only stop at a stage when my mind or body gives up on me.'
