I painted my first landscape using watercolors in the 3rd grade.   My teacher taught us how to paint a tree, so I painted a whole forest with a deer standing proudly front and center.   She liked my painting so well that she held it up to show the class before it had dried.   My little deer's eye ran down!   Luckily, not much damage was done, and I was hooked.   I think that first painting with a forest and a deer, was probably my best watercolor painting, however.   Years later when my two daughters were grown, I picked up my brushes briefly, dabbling...more
