My interest in photography dates back to the 60's when I started shooting with a half-frame 35mm Agfa camera. I bought my first SLR (Pentax) while I was overseas, in the Air Force during the Viet Nam War. After graduating from the University of South Florida, raising a family, and a 30-year successful career as a Hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, I finally had the time to get back to my interest in traveling and photography. I currently shoot with a Sony A77V SLT.
I am a Florida nature, landscape, and wildlife photographer but do not limit myself and find all forms and subjects interesting. While much of my photography is from near my home in Tampa, Florida, a great deal is a result of my recent travels. In most of the images I have presented here, I try showing the world as we actually see it. However, recently I have been experimenting with various post processing filters and effects. The Photo Painting - Digital Art gallery contains the results of that effort. Some photographs in other galleries have been processed using HDR techniques or an HDR effect, primarily due to lighting conditions.
