Painting brings me joy, and I want to share it with you.
I am an abstract landscape and contemporary abstract artist, both in mixed media. I live in Washington state, U.S.A., and practiced architecture while registered in Colorado from 1992 to 2012. I've exhibited in solo and group shows in Colorado and Washington, and my work can be found in private collections throughout the U.S., the U.K., Germany and New Zealand.
I grew up in New Jersey playing with Legos and Erector Sets. Tinker Toys were too boring for me. I had to move on to old school pen and ink perspectives in architecture school to further torture myself while I was learning line drawings of nudes or whatever my art teach came up with. She asked me if I would like to attend an architecture program in Manhattan for some of her specially talented students. I did, and then got my masters degree in Denver. This was great, because people had been telling me architecture was too difficult for women at that time.
After about twenty five years of designing high end residential, medical and retail projects, I found myself studying a painting above a table at Cafe Terra Cotta in Littleton, Colorado, and I said... I can do that! I'd been looking for a new vocation after child rearing, and this started my most artistic season of life. My husband's aerospace career brought us to Seattle in 1985, and I now keep my studio on 1120 Pacific Ave. in Tacoma, and keep very, very... busy.
If any scrape of the palette knife awakens the emotional part of your mind, a place where you visualize no tangible object you've ever know, that is enough.
