Description
Here is my Travel Blog:
My brother and I spent some time camping in Yosemite, California. An absolutely beautiful place, especially if you get off the beaten paths and away from the crowds, which can be quite overwhelming at times. But, the truly amazing thing about this wonderful place is its so big, you can actually get away and be by yourself. I can see why Mr. Ansel Adams spent so much time here with his camera, both in the summer months as well as wintertime.
Even though this photo was taken in July, some of the mountains surrounding Yosemite Valley still had a bit of snow on their peaks. Coming over the pass, at its highest elevation, was quite chilly and a welcome respite from the sometimes oppressive heat of the lower regions.
Once we got to our camp site the heat of July made its presence known as there was not a breeze to be felt. But soon, after the campsite and tents were all setup, I found myself in a heaven on earth. Surrounded by Yosemite's intense beauty and the most awesome display of waterfalls, the oppressive heat seemed to disappear and was replaced by sheer, visual and sensory stimuli, of course all in a superbly pleasurable way.
My brother and I spent the next few days hiking, doing photography and taking in the cornucopia of nature's wondrously, spectacular bounty. When we had to unfortunately leave and get back to the real world, I thanked my lucky stars for every moment I spent in Yosemite. Ansel Adams certainly knew a good thing when he had it and that is why he spent so much time here.
I do believe he was on to something...I have to come back to see, feel and experience what Yosemite will share in all its glory during the winter months! Peace, Max
