Description
Made this film photograph while on a business trip to Yemen in the mid-90s. This man was the bridegroom in a traditional wedding ceremony where the men celebrate separately from the women and then come together with the bride's party at the end of the celebrations. Although I received a few suspicious glances while photographing this event, no one hassled me or interfered with my shooting.
I found Yemen to be one of the most interesting countries i have visited. The culture and history is worth exploring as much as their historical sites. They are a proud people who have defended against all invaders in their long history.
