Description
This is an Orange Sulphur Butterfly which are really very yellow and it was resting on a Texas Thistle wildflower that is growing in a field meadow nearby me. The yellow of the butterfly and purple of the flower look pretty together and I was glad to get this close up of both of them.
Orange Sulphur Butterflies are also known as an Alfalfa Butterfly. It is in the Pieridae family in the Genus Colias.
